About the Artist

I am a ceramic artist based in Saanich, British Columbia, on the traditional territories of the WSANEC Peoples and the Lekwungen Peoples. I am grateful to live and create on these lands, whose forests, shorelines, and coastal landscapes continue to shape my work. A former Visual Arts student at Camosun College, my practice began with an interest in clay sculpture and continues to grow as I return to familiar places that change with time and season.

I often collect ideas while walking through parks and along beaches, noticing the textures of bark, moss, stone, and driftwood. I use these observations as a starting point for carving into clay and developing vessels that reflect the character of the landscape.

I work intuitively, building and carving each piece as its form emerges. My practice continues to evolve through an exploration of the balance between function and sculpture, and how ceramics can express a sense of place.
